A 67-year-old local man has died after the vehicle he was travelling in was involved in a collision on the A30 at Highgate Hill, Cornwall.

Emergency services were at the scene at around 7am yesterday, after receiving reports of a Landrover having collided with the central reservation on Highgate Hill.

The male driver suffered fatal injuries as a results of the collision. He was taken by land ambulance to Treliske Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The female passenger was uninjured.

Closures were in place at Highgate Hill whilst emergency services worked at the scene.
