Liskeard is to be one of the first areas in Cornwall to have a multi-skilled tri-service officer to support the fire and ambulance services as well as the police force.

The latest Tri-Service Safety Officers are Richard Deavall, who will be working in Liskeard, and Adam Chapman in Bude

They will carry out a similar role to Andrew Hichens, the first  Tri-Service Safety Officer (TSSO) in the country who has been working out of Hayle Emergency Services Community Station since November 2014.

A Tri-Service Safety Officer has some police powers as well as being a co-responder for the ambulance service, an anti-social case worker and an on-call firefighter.
