Smoke detectors raised the alarm after fire broke out in the laundry room of a large residential premises in Fowey yesterday.

Appliances from Fowey and Lostwithiel were sent to the scene in Hanson Drive.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire using a high pressure hosereel jet. The positive pressure fan was used to ventilate the area.

The cause was accidental.
