Witnesses to a sexual assault on board a train travelling between Newquay and Plymouth have today been urged to help the investigation.
The incident happened on board a Great Western Railway service between approximately 8.45pm and 9pm on Saturday, August 12.
The victim, a 17-year-old girl, was returning from the Boardmaster festival in Newquay. As she boarded the train, a man approached her and asked if she needed help with her luggage.
When on the train, the man sat next to her and then asked if she wanted a kiss, which the victim refused. He then started tickling the girl and attempted to take her phone. The girl then moved to a different seat.
The girl was then approached by another man, and she explained to him what the first man did. The second man then started being sexually inappropriate. He sexually assaulted her by kissing her and touching her and himself inappropriately.
The first offender is a white man with pale skin and ginger hair. He was wearing a white shirt with a palm tree on it. He had blue shorts on and a novelty shark hat.
The second offender is a white man, with mousey hair and pronounced sideburns. He had a white polo shirt and camo shorts. He gave his name as Lance.
Investigating officer DC Matt Grieve, said: ‘This was a deeply upsetting and shocking incident for this young woman and we are urgently seeking witnesses.
