This week’s edition of the Cornish Times, in shops from today, has words and pictures giving comprehensive coverage of many of the Armistice Day and Remembrance Sunday commemorations and events held in towns and villages across South East Cornwall.

In Liskeard, Mayor Cllr Simon Cassidy took the opportunity during the commemorations to award the town’s Royal British Legion branch, which is celebrating its centenary this year, with Freedom of the Town, while in Callington Portreeve Cllr Mike Tagg followed the Remembrance events with the presentation of Citizen of the Year awards and a special award for those who had created the town’s magnificent poppy wave in the churchyard.

In Saltash there were commemorations on both Armistice Day and Remembrance Sunday, and local schools and Scout groups held their own commemorative events.

Pictured here is Jane Pascoe, right with the poppy wreath, Cornwall Councillor for Liskeard South and Dobwalls, taking part in the Remembrance.
