Firefighters from Liskeard, Callington and Looe were scrambled at five am after smoke alarms woke a Liskeard resident.
A fire had broken out in a storage area next to a Council-owned house on Friday (January 18) and was extinguished by crew.
The resident of the house, who wished to remain anonymous, was very shaken but unharmed in the incident.
‘A firefighter entered the property, reassuring the resident and assisting them out of the house,’ said a Cornwall Fire and Rescue spokesperson.
The resident of the property was taken by paramedics to Derriford Hospital to be checked over and was later discharged.
Devon and Cornwall Police are investigating.
