Police have launched an investigation following the discovery of a body in St Austell early this morning.

Officers discovered the body of an unidentified man in Truro Road just after 5am.

A scene guard remains around the Truro Road and Bridge Road park.

The death is being treated as suspicious and detectives say they’re waiting for the outcome of a forensic post mortem examination.

Police are appealing for witnesses and would like to hear from anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious.
