Police today said officers are seeking three witnesses who may have seen the fatal collision in Looe in which seven-year-old Maisie Duncan died.

Maisie was struck by a car on Bodrigan Road at around 2.30pm on March 1.

Police said in a statement today: ‘The grey Nissan Juke had travelled down Pendennis Road before it collided with the child on the pavement.

‘The car then collided with a property on Bodrigan Road. The driver, a local man in his 60s, was uninjured.’

Police are investigating the cause of the collision and have launched a fresh appeal for witnesses.

They are particularly keen to speak to three people who were out in the snow on Pendennis Road at the time and may hold vital information.

One person was on a sledge made out of a cardboard box; the second was in dark clothing and the third was a woman wearing a bright orange coat with either a hood or a light-coloured bobble hat.

It is possible that these three people may have witnessed the incident and they are urged to contact police.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police via [email protected] or by phone on 101, quoting log number 521 of 01/03/18.
