Looe’s coastguard team has shared pictures from the multi-agency rescue of an injured hang glider on Monday.

The man in his 50s had crashed into a field at Withnoe Barton in Whitsand Bay.

He’s reported to have suffered non-life threatening facial injuries in the fall.

Looe Coastguard Rescue Team were called out at 2.25pm.

’The casualty was in a serious but stable condition and eventually with the assistance of the Tamar Coastguard Rescue Team, he was transferred to the waiting Devon and Cornwall air ambulance,’ said a spokesperson.

’This was a multi agency operation involving South West Ambulance, Police, Coastguard and Air Ambulance.

’We would like to take this opportunity to wish the casualty well and for a speedy recovery.’

Although transferred initially to the Air Ambulance, police said that the man was taken to Derriford by land ambulance.
