Devon and Cornwall Police is this month open to applications of interest from people who would like to volunteer their time and serve as a Special Constable with the Force.

Chief Officer Special Constabulary Marc Kastner said: ‘The reason that people from all walks of life volunteer to be Special Constables, namely the desire to give something back to their community, is precisely the desire to be of service to the public that we look for.

‘For that reason and others, the role of Special Constable which is carried out around a person’s other work commitments is very fulfilling, and really does give something back.’

You can apply for the Special Constabulary if you are over the age of 18 but there is no upper age limit for applying.
