Police are appealing for witnesses after a lorry collided with a car on the A30 near Launceston.

Officers were called to reports of an abandoned vehicle and a man on the westbound carriageway between Liftondown and Launceston at 6.30am on March 3.

The abandoned vehicle, a white Ford Ka, was subsequently involved in a collision with a lorry.

The driver of the Ka was out of the vehicle, on the central reservation, before the collision took place.

The driver of the white Tipper lorry was uninjured but suffered from shock.

The 37-year-old male Ka driver, from Penryn, was treated by the ambulance service and taken to Derriford Hospital for treatment.

The fire service was also in attendance.

The Ka was substantially damaged as a result of the collision.

The road was closed for around four hours while an investigation of the scene took place.
