The Environment Agency has put out a new flood alert this morning for the south Cornwall coast from Gribbin Head to Rame Head

Flooding is possible for all high tides until Friday morning inclusive. The alert has been issued due to exceptionally high Spring Tides combined with large waves. The largest waves are expected on Friday morning. Tides may be marginally higher than predicted due to local weather conditions. The time of the high tide at Looe on Thursday evening is 7.15pm with high tide at 7.32 am on Friday morning.

Minor localised quayside flooding is possible at exposed locations including Fowey, Polperro, Looe and Seaton. Winds are generally expected from a south easterly direction and to remain below Force 6. People are advised to stay away from risk areas and take care next to the coast. Keep up to date with weather and tide conditions on local radio.
