A 24-year-old man has been left with life-threatening injuries following a serious collision involving a motorbike on the A388 at Saltash.

In a statement released yesterday, police said the single vehicle collision happened on December 22.

The vehicle, a Kawasaki motorcycle, was travelling from Callington towards the direction of Saltash. The incident occurred near to the entrance to Carkeel Barns.

As a result of the collision the man suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to Derriford Hospital where he immediately underwent emergency surgery for the injuries sustained.

Officers from the Alliance Roads Policing Team along with a forensic collision investigator and scenes of crime officers are investigating the collision.

They are appealing for witnesses to the collision or anyone who saw the motorbike prior to this collision. Police are also seeking dash-cam footage.
