Five people had to be taken to hospital for a check-up after fumes leaked from a wine cooler.
The alarm was raised because of a strong smell of ammonia coming from an upstairs room at a home in Grenville Road, Padstow, late on Friday night.
Firefighters used two breathing apparatus sets to investigate and removed a wine cooler which was leaking.
Paramedics checked the residents because of their suspected exposure to refrigerant gas and all five were taken to hospital for further checks.
