A Forestry site near Bodmin has become the most recent target for the illegal dumping of tyres, says Devon and Cornwall’s rural policing team.

There has been an increase in reports of fly tipping and Police say this is likely to be as a result of the recent closure of a tyre recycling plant in East Cornwall.

Devon and Cornwall Police rural affairs officer and the Environment Agency are asking farmers, landowners and the public to be on alert and report the illegal dumping of tyres via the Council fly tipping reporting process and via the Environment Agency 24hr incident hotline 0800 80 70 60

The rural affairs team asks everyone to ensure that the appropriate security is present and to remain vigilant for suspicious activity.

Anyone able to offer information regarding incidents are asked to email [email protected] or by calling 101. Information can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111 or reporting online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
