A man was arrested for drink driving and possession of a Class B drug after his car overturned in the early hours of Saturday morning (January 5).

Police doing patrols came across the vehicle on its roof on the Draynes Valley road near Redgate at 2.30am.

The driver, who was just getting out of the car, was arrested at the scene and taken to hospital.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: ‘A 27-year-old local man was arrested for drink driving and possession of a class B drug and investigations are ongoing.

‘No other vehicles were involved. The road was closed for a couple of hours and the vehicle was recovered at 4.30am.’
