Residents evacuated their home because of a chimney fire.

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service was called just before midnight last night to a property in Polkerris.

A crew from St Austell put out a fire in the grate of the open fire and investigated the loft space using a triple extension ladder.

The chimney fire was put out and the property checked using a thermal imaging camera.
