POLICE are appealing for information following an assault in Torpoint which left a telecommunications engineer with head injuries.
At around 8.20am on Wednesday, July 29, a man was working on a BT telegraph pole to the rear of Clarence Road, when he was approached by an unknown man.
The victim was setting up equipment and subsequently climbed the pole to carry out work. While working at height, he engaged in conversation with the man, who was described as behaving in an intimidating and aggressive manner.
A short time after the man walked away, the victim was then struck to the side of the head by a stone, causing injuries which required medical treatment.
A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: “Officers have carried out a number of enquiries; however, no suspects have been identified.
“Police are keen to identify the man pictured, as he may have information which could assist the investigation.
“Anyone who witnessed the incident, saw a man acting suspiciously in the area, or recognises the individual in the image is asked to contact police via our website or by calling 101, quoting reference 50260202128.
