Firefighters from Torpoint Community Fire Station used a bucket of water to extinguish a small fire in a bin this afternoon (January 11).

They said nuisance wheelie bin fires are a problem in some neighbourhoods, typically causing damage of up to £1,650 including damage to buildings, cleaning up and the cost of replacement.
