Cornwall Fire and Rescue service issued a safety warning after dealing with a barn fire this morning.

Appliances from Wadebridge, Delabole and Bodmin dealt with the blaze at St Minver.

The service said: ‘Every year we attend numerous fires on farms, where buildings are completely destroyed by fire, often with the loss of large amounts of stock, straw, hay, farm machinery, chemicals and even livestock.

‘We have produced a booklet in partnership with Cornish Mutual and NFU Mutual to help farms comply with the new fire laws.

The booklet contains the information on what you’re required to do by law, fire safety risk assessments, controlled burning, dangerous substances and arson.’
