AN appeal has gone out this morning (Thursday) for information and help to located a 14-year-old girl who has been reported as missing from Landrake.A Devon and Cornwall Police news item reads: "Police are appealing for the public's help to locate a 14-year-old girl who has been reported missing."Officers are concerned for the welfare of Sophie Smith from Saltash. She was last seen in the Saltash area at 7pm on Wednesday, 23 February."She is described as white female, of very slim build, approximately 5ft 9ins tall with long brown/blonde hair. She was last wearing black Nylon ‘THE LAKERS’ basketball jacket and black Nike Airforce shoes. "Anyone who sees Sophie or knows of her whereabouts is asked to contact police on 999 quoting log 763 23/2/22."

A separate Facebook message from David Smith reads: "Request for your help. Sophie, 14, from Landrake, went missing at 7pm last night and as at 8am still hasn’t been found. Police and family etc are out searching for her locally and in Plymouth.

"Please can everyone:

"1. Check sheds, garages etc anywhere she could have taken shelter overnight and ask neighbours to do the same

"2. Contact the police on 999 if you saw her at or around 7pm, have any information on where she was or who (if anyone) she was with etc

"Hopefully she will turn up soon but if you can please help as this is just not like Sophie."
