While on its return from a public relations event in Looe on Saturday (picture on back page) the Plymouth lifeboat stopped to take a l6' craft with engine failure in tow.
The Tamar Tosher, with two people on board, was flashing an SOS after suffering engine failure south of Rame Head. The boat was towed back to Millbrook.
On Sunday Polruan coastguard investigated a report of an object drifting half a mile west of Washing Rocks, Fowey. A thorough search was carried out, but nothing untoward was found. The object was believed to be rafts of drifting weeds.
Net caught on yacht's propeller
Fowey's Trent class lifeboat, 'Dora Foster McDougall', was launched on Monday morning to assist a yacht that was drifting towards rocks with a net caught around her propeller.
The 31' 'Milky Whey' had just left Fowey, bound for Plymouth, and raised the alarm half a mile off Pencarrow Head. The crew were not in any immediate danger, but the lifeboat crew were able to attach a tow rope and take her back to Fowey where the propeller could be cleared.
Helicopter scrambled
A Royal Naval Rescue Helicopter from Culdrose was scrambled just before 4pm on Tuesday after the fishing boat Didier Patrice, trawled up the sail from a yacht, about 2.5 miles north-north-west of Eddystone Reef. Nothing was found and the search was called off.
Attempted murder charge
A man has been charged with attempted murder of a female following an incident in Millbrook when police were called to a house in the Anderton area at 3.15am on Saturday.
Crafthole collision
A motorcyclist was in collision with a Landrover Freelander east of Crafthole just before 7.45 am on Tuesday morning.
An ambulance was called to attend to the driver of the red Suzuki 645 motorcycle who, said a police spokesman, was not seriously injured.
Appeal for vigilance over thefts from garages
Community Liaison Officer for Torpoint and Looe, PC John Riggall is this week making a special appeal to residents in the Torpoint area, where there is at present an escalation in thefts from sheds and garages.
He wants everyone to be very vigilant and advises it would not be a good idea to keep anything of any real value in an outside shed at present, and to make sure that such buildings are securely locked.

Released after breath test
A concerned member of the public called police from the Safeway Store, Liskeard on Monday afternoon, with information about a possible drunk driver.
Liskeard police stopped a car being driven by a man, on the A38 at 1.15pm, and arrested him when he failed to take a breathaliser test. He was taken to Liskeard police station and after testing was released with no further action being taken.
