More than £15m in National Lottery funding has been given to groups in Cornwall in the past year.

In South East Cornwall, more than 30 projects have received grants large and small, from £3,900 to install new toilets at a Millbrook church to more than £340,000 to create a new parish archive centre and meeting room in Calstock.

Now those who have benefited from lottery funding in the past could be in line for a further £3,000, as the search for the country’s favourite grant winners begins.

The National Lottery Awards 2017 will showcase the best of Britain’s charities, local clubs and community initiatives, says actor John Barrowman, who will be presenting the awards on the BBC.

Members of the public are being asked to nominate their favourite projects by April 7.
