Caradon Swimming Club members performed way above expectation at the British Gas GB Masters Long Course Championships, winning nine individual and three relay medals at the Welsh National Pool in Swansea.

Leading the way for the team, which is sponsored by Liskeard-based RG Pools & Leisure Ltd, was Mick Swift, who scooped four silvers in the 60-64 years' section.

Swift also established four South West Regional records and broke four Cornwall ASA county records. Amanda Losasso claimed silver medals in the in the 50-54 years' 100-metre and 50-metre freestyle events, while Emma Bryant had a silver in 30-34 years' 200-metre breaststroke and bronze in the 200-metre individual medley. Sam Crosby was also in silver medal-winning form in the 18-24 years' age group, clocking a time of 3.14.08 in the gruelling 200-metre butterfly.
