MENHENIOT-LOOE took on St Neot in their first game of the Jolly's Drinks Cornwall Cricket League season, after the previous week's fixture had been called off.
Matthew Perrett, Steve Marchant and Ben Millar made their home debuts and were presented with their caps before the match by captain Daniel Lee.
St Neot won the toss and put their hosts in on what looked to be a batter-friendly wicket.
Menheniot-Looe got off to the perfect start, openers Lee and Pete Nance posting 77 for the first wicket before Nance was bowled by Freeman for 15.
This brought overseas player Millar to the crease and he and Lee thrived in each other's company. The run rate accelerated and in no time Lee had completed a well-crafted half-century.
Within 23 overs the score went from 77 to 195, with Millar bagging a debut half-century.
The partnership was eventually broken when Lee holed out on the boundary for a fine 99 to earn the Steve Marchant Plastering 'Player-of-the-Match' award.
