Looe Pioneers are searching out new frontiers and have begun to grow again in numbers. A team of 15 performed admirably at the Newquay 10k (pictured) and more team events are planned.

On Sunday Pioneer Peter Heywood (fourth from the left), 69, completed the Amsterdam Marathon in an unbelievable 3hrs 50min, finishing 13th in his age group. It was a personal best – by 16 minutes. On the same day Kelly Prutton competed in the Lisbon Marathon.

New runners are welcome to Looe Pioneers, whatever level of confidence or ability.

They meet on Tuesday and Thursday at Looe Community Academy car park between 7pm and 8pm.
