CARLSBERG SW PENINSULA LEAGUE

PREMIER DIVISION

Falmouth Town 2, Liskeard Athletic 1

LISKEARD's superb second-half performance was not enough to earn them a point in this relegation battle at Bickland Park, which means that the Lux Park outfit are now well adrift

at the bottom of the Premier table.

Blues manager Martin McHugh was convinced that his side were worthy of at least a point.

'It was a much-improved second half once again that could have resulted in a point,' he said.

'Hitting the crossbar, creating chances and winning and keeping possession still wasn't enough to secure a point, but the players rose to their tasks, kept their cool and continued to battle through the conditions.'

McHugh was, for the first time this season, unhappy with the officials, and admitted: 'When you are at the bottom, it is said that things don't go your way.'
