EAST Cornwall snooker star Darran Lock made the trip to Ireland to represent England at the World Amateur '6 Reds' and Team Championships.

The 26-year-old, from Sea-ton, near Looe, qualified through the regional and national rounds of the English '6 Reds' competition during the 2012-13 snooker season, which culminated in the final at the Sheffield Star Academy.

Lock, who plays his snooker in the W H Bond Liskeard and District League, was runner-up in the final following a very tight match.

He then flew out to Carlow in Ireland for the week-long World Amateur '6 Reds' and Team tournament, featuring 100 entrants from across the world.
