SALTASH qualified for the Rosevear Cup finals day for the fourth time in five years with a comfortable 42-run victory at Liskeard.
This win was more of a team effort after the one-man heroics of Chris Simpson the previous week at Callington.
He was out early and when Ben Collins – who technically was not eligible to play anyway, having made three consecutive appearances in Division Two – bowled Adam Stevenson, Saltash needed someone to step up to the plate.
They found just the man in Mike Hodge, who blasted the ball to all parts. He was well supported by Jonny Trembath, who also produced some powerful hitting in a match-winning partnership of 59.
A couple of late boundaries from Ian Stevenson saw Saltash reach 144 for five, which was going to be a tough target.
