Callington FC women closed the gap on league-leaders Charlestown to just four points with a 2-0 win against their struggling neighbours Launceston, who remain at the foot of the table.

Next up for Callington is another home game tomorrow (Sunday) as they welcome an improving Exeter & Tedburn side, who beat them 1-0 earlier in the season.

Plymouth Argyle’s women return to league action tomorrow (Sunday) when they take on fellow strugglers Forest Green Rovers at Elburton Villa FC with a 2pm kick off. With the bottom two teams being relegated from the Premier League Southern Division – that is Forest Green Rovers and Plymouth Argyle, there is a faint chance one of these two can avoid relegation. If Brighton, the likely winners of the division, beat the winners of the Northern Division to gain promotion to WSL 2 it could mean that just one team will be relegated.

In the meantime Argyle will be looking to regain the Devon Senior Cup on Thursday when they take on Marine Academy Plymouth in the final at the Devon FA HQ Coach Road, Newton Abbot.
