Callington Town are stepping up their search for a new first team manager for their South West Premier team as the club completes the installation of floodlights at the Ginsters Marshfield Parc ground.

The position arose after stalwart manager Lee Beer announced his retirement from football. Incoming chairman Steve Woolley is spearheading the search for a replacement. Last week they appointed Rod and Kev Pethick as second team managers for the East Cornwall side.

“Since the club was formed in 1989 we have been always looking to improve both on and off the pitch and now we have a solid base to take the next step forward. The new management team would join a solid group of managers who work as a team across the club,” said Wolley.

“We hope to sort out the third team management position soon and so will now be concentrating on getting the first team sorted so we can start planning for the upcoming campaign,” he added.

The club won three trophies this season, all for the third team bringing the total of trophies won to 28 in as many years. Anyone interested in applying should contact the new Chairman Steve Woolley on 07968 873347 or email [email protected]
