SOUTH East Cornwall is guaranteed a team in the Cornwall Senior Cup final after Saltash United and Torpoint Athletic were paired together in the semi-final draw on Tuesday morning.

AFC St Austell will face Mousehole in the other semi-final. Matches are to be played on March 6 and 7, with venues and kick-off times yet to be decided.

Torpoint caused the shock of the tournament last Friday night when they knocked out holders Bodmin Town 3-2 after being 2-0 down at half-time.

Bodmin have won the Senior Cup for six of the last eight years and looked on course for another semi-final appearance before second half substitute Gary Hird turned the quarter-final tie at The Mill Torpoint’s way, setting up one goal and scoring the winner in time added on.

Saltash, who reached the last four with a 6-1 victory over Sticker, are hoping to go one better after losing 2-1 to Bodmin in last season’s final at Helston.
