Things are looking up for Argyle boss Derek Adams after his side drew level on League One points with Bristol Rovers following their end to end tussle with Bradford City.

The 22nd placed Greens visit 18th placed Rochdale tomorrow bidding to build on a thrilling 3-3 draw with Bradford City.

Adams believes his side showed “tremendous character” to fight back to draw with David Hopkin’s basement Bantams after trailing three times at rain and windswept Home Park.

Forget where Bradford are in the table.

Any team that manages to level three times in a game shows mettle – even if their defending was woeful.

Adams admitted: “We gave ourselves a huge task, going behind three times, but as a team we have shown tremendous character again.”

Argyle top scorer Freddie Ladapo scored the greens first leveller and then set up Joel Grant to make it 2-2 after 50 minutes.

George Miller restored Bradford’s lead just three minutes after Grant’s goal (and Jack Payne’s two early strikes had put the Bantams 1-0 and 2-1 up).

Ladapo’s 74th minute scrambled leveller and second goal of the game was his 12th of the season.

Adams said: “It was an exciting game for League One football, both managers wouldn’t have liked the way they conceded the goals but enjoyed the goals we scored.

“Attacking wise were unbelievable at times, the amount of chances we create, we can open up teams.

“We’ve taken three but we’ve had a lot more opportunities to take more.

“Teams don’t play through us and we have given away some ridiculous goals.

“We conceded opportunities to them when we had the ball, not when they had the ball and that is really hurting us at this moment in time.

“Going forward we are a top team.

“Forward-wise we are looking a threat and we can play but to go a goal down after four minutes is ridiculous.

“We are a team and a set of individuals that keep on going, they have got belief they can get back into games.

“To come back tree times in a big game for us shows the mentality of the squad and that will keep us moving forward.

“We have closed the gap to 16th position, we are looking upwards.”

Dale – managed by former Argyle central defender Keith Hill – start the day seven points ahead of the greens on 24 following their 1-1 draw at second from bottom AFC Wimbledon.

It doesn’t require a mathematician to work out how important a second away win of the season would be for Argyle.

They can score goals, have bags of character but can they tighten up defensively?

Only tomorrow will tell.

C’mon you Greens!
