A RECORD number of 88 competitors took part in this year's Saltash Open Golf Championship at China Fleet Golf and Country Club.

The winner of the event was Lee Fedricks, who was presented with the pewter claret jug and Dartington Crystal glassware by the Mayor and Mayoress of Saltash, Martin and Maggie Gee.

Mark Screech claimed second place, while third went to Colin Adams, fourth to Mike Pendered and fifth to Ed Shapland.
