A PLEASANT October afternoon saw 24 dinghies slide into the waters of Looe Bay for the penultimate race of the season.
The breeze, varying between south and south-westerly, gave the committee some difficulty in trying to set a true course. The competition was particularly close in the Mirror class.
Having not got off to the best of starts, Esther Bowdler came through from third to lead before the end of the first round – a cushion she maintained over Callum Johns until the end.
With just one race to go, Esther leads Callum by a mere two points in the overall standings, so an exciting finish is in prospect.
