SALTASH United's run of four consecutive wins came to an end in a bad-tempered affair at Poltair Park, where even manager Stuart Dudley was sent to the stands.

St Austell were leading 1-0 at the time – after Martin Giles had headed home Chris Reski's free-kick on 19 minutes – when Dudley's altercation with Giles led to him being banished to the stands, ten minutes before the break.

Dudley had an elevated view, from the raised Poltair stand, of Chris Phillips turning home Mike Body's cross from close range six minutes later to send the Lilywhites in at the break with a two-goal cushion.
