A YOUNG kayaker from South East Cornwall is hoping for an Olympic call-up ahead of the 2016 games in Rio.
Dan Palmer, from Tywardreath, has been selected to join the Junior GB Squad.
The 16-year-old, who is studying an Outdoor Sport Extended Diploma at Duchy College Stoke Climsland, has now powered up his already rigorous training regime, with punishing workouts including gym, cardio and paddles.
Dan is delighted to have been selected, and admitted: 'I've trained so hard for it.
