Bodmin-based pasty maker Proper Cornish has today it is to sponsor Gloucestershire County Cricket Club’s fast bowler Liam Norwell. Liam, who represented Cornwall from U11 to U17 before signing a professional contract with Gloucestershire.

Liam’s nickname – Pasty – underlines the shared love of the county’s most well-known and loved food product. Proper Cornish products will also be available on match days at Bristol County Ground, the home of Gloucestershire CCC, so fans can enjoy one great Cornish export in the stands while supporting another on the field.

Mark Muncey, marketing director at Proper Cornish commented: ’After meeting Liam, it became clear what a fantastic role model he is. Liam will make a great ambassador for Proper Cornish, Cornwall and our beloved pasty.’
