LANHYDROCK have confirmed Australian all-rounder Sam Remedios has committed to a second season at the club as they look to launch a promotion bid from Division Two East of the Cornwall Cricket League.

The Bodmin-based outfit finished fifth last term under skipper Jamie Eldridge, 23 points adrift of runners-up St Austell Seconds, not helped by their batting fail to fire on several occasions.

However, they have one of the better bowling attacks in the division, and in Remedios, particularly now he’s getting to used to the low, slow Cornish wickets, they have one of the best players in the division with his hard-hitting batting and off-spin.

Remedios, who will bat in the middle-order on Saturdays and bowl in the middle of the innings, added: “I’m absolutely delighted to be back at Lanhydrock next year. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and thought there’d be no better thing than to do it again.

“From a team perspective I felt we played well and unfortunately let it slip towards the end of the year. I’d love to push even closer towards promotion as I feel we have the team to do so.

“On a personal note, I’ve set a standard with the numbers I put up in 2026, so I’d love to go out there and beat them next year, as well as get a few league tons under my belt. I can’t wait to be back!”

Reflecting on his return, Eldridge added: “I am very excited Sam’s put pen to paper and agreed to come back to Lanhydrock for next season.

“He is a very talented cricketer who brought runs, wickets and quality fielding to our first team. He made a massive impact at the club both on and off the field in 2026 and we are really happy to have him back to do it all again.”
