Pencarrow Cricket Club are offering free cricket for all members with no match or membership this season.

The move is a bid to make cricket more accessible and is in line with the England and Wales Cricket Board’s work to break down the barriers to people playing cricket.

Like many clubs in Cornwall, player retention is becoming a priority with players leaving the game due to other demands.

The club hopes the initiative will attract new players who have been considering playing but have seen cost as a barrier, or those wanting a change of scenery.

Pre-season training sessions are being held at Brannel School, 7.30pm-9.15pm on Tuesdays, February 23, March 8, 22 and 29 and April 5 and 12.
