The instruction was led by Brian Herbert, eighth Dan, with this year's guest instructor being Gary Swift, seventh Dan of the British Wado Kai, who is based in Plymouth.
Other instructors on the day included Tre-widland's Trevor Wickett and Tavistock's Umberto Bergonzini, both fourth Dan.
Sensei Swift began the day with defences to the fearsome Japanese Katana (sword), known as Muto Dori, and was followed by Sensei Wickett, who took aspects of the Jikishin syllabus and then also related them to the Katana.
Sensei Bergonzini then led the class through some of his particularly dynamic teachings. The afternoon has now become the competition stage of the weekend.
