TORPOINT Athletic completed an incredible five-year run – winning the title four times and finishing second once – by completing this East Cornwall League season unbeaten.

They got off to a flying start in their match against Bodmin Town when Lewis Young ran on to a through-ball to shoot past keeper Matt Trundle on five minutes.

Young then stepped up to convert a penalty kick, awarded for a foul on Lewis Kershaw, before Ross Avery made it 3-0 going into half-time with a simple tap-in.

As Bodmin tired, Torpoint stepped up the pace, Lewis Kershaw making it 4-0, followed by Darren Shepherd netting from close range.

Young completed his hat-trick, before Lewis Kershaw let fly from 20 yards to make it 7-0. Brian Stacey rounded off the scoring.
