East Cornwall youngsters were among the players who enjoyed success at the under-13 Kerrier tournament, which attracted the South West's leading badminton players to Truro.

Cara Collins, (10), and 12-year-old Ellie Reed are both members of Liskeard Junior Badminton Club and the Callington Development Squad.

Reed and her partner, Amelia Burrell, of Camborne, claimed victory in the ladies' doubles.

Collins was runner-up in the same discipline with her partner from Saltash, Charlotte Freer.

It was a particularly good result for Collins, especially considering that she has another two years within this age group.
