East Cornwall youngsters Alice and Elizabeth Gray both put in superb performances at last Sunday's South West Region Biathlon Championships, held at Millfield School in Somerset.

The Championships featured athletes who had achieved top places in their respective schools, competing against each other in swimming and track running as individuals and as a school team.

The sisters both attend Millfield, and represented the school in the under-13 and 12 age groups respectively.

Alice finished third in the 100-metre swim and seventh in the 1,600-metre track event to secure an individual silver medal, and also contributed to a first-place finish for her team.

She will now go on to represent Millfield in next year's National Biathlon Championships.

Younger sister, Elizabeth, helped her team clinch the runners-up spot in the under-12 category.
