World record rower Kiko Matthews is encouraging local people to join her for a beach clean-up at Seaton this afternoon (Wednesday May 15).
Kiko broke the female solo cross Atlantic record in 2018 as a novice rower and having undergone brain surgery just six months before her departure.
Now the 38 year old has swapped oars for wheels and she is cycling around the coastline of the UK to raise awareness of ocean plastic pollution.
While riding around 60 miles each day, Kiko is encouraging other cyclists to join her en route - and she is also joining together with beach cleaning groups and organisations along the way.
Looe Marine Conservation Group will be at Seaton from 5pm to welcome Kiko.
