Local residents and particularly those interested in becoming a councillor are being encouraged to attend the St Blazey, Fowey and Lostwithiel Community Network Panel meeting on Monday, January 23.
The meeting, which is taking place in Fowey where they are looking for new councillors, will be an opportunity to see how a network panel operates for those wondering about standing for election.
Andrew White, chief executive at the Police and Crime Commission, will be talking about the police and crime plan.
Liz Roberts from the University of the West of England will be there to talk about a UK-wide project on water management and drought risk. This item will include Liz talking about a case study on the area around the River Fowey.
Stuart Millard from Keep Cornwall Fed will be giving the panel a short presentation on this initiative which utilises waste food to tackle food poverty.
The network panel meets quarterly to discuss matters that affect the local area.
The St Blazey, Fowey and Lostwithiel Community Network Panel includes all five Cornwall Councillors for the area, representatives of the eight Parish Councils (Boconnoc, Broadoak, Lanlivery, Luxulyan, St Sampson, St Veep, St Winnow and Tywardreath and Par) and three Town Councils (Fowey, Lostwithiel, St Blaise) in the area.
This meeting is on Monday, January 23 from 7pm to 9pm at the Conference Room, Fowey River Academy (Sports Hub), Windmill, Fowey, PL23 1HE.
