Plymouth-based Gables Dogs and Cats Home (which rehomes animals across the region) has taken in an elderly terrier named Washy who is in desperate need of vet care and a lot of TLC.

She is very frail, has several tumours and is in desperate need of dental extractions. It is estimated it will cost around £1200 for all the treatments required.

Gables is looking for help to brighten Washy’s future. She is still full of life and loves nothing more than curling up on your lap and having tummy rubs.

Deputy Manager Ruth Rickard said: ’We were asked to help this poor little dog by another organisation and when we saw how much care she needed and how sweet she is, we just couldn’t say no. With this being the season of goodwill we are hoping our wonderful supporters can help this dear little dog get the medical help she so desperately needs. As we are a genuine non-euthanasia charity we hope we can improve Washy’s quality of life and ensure she lives out her retirement as comfortably as possible. We hope she can be our Christmas miracle’

If you can help by making a contribution to Washy’s Christmas Wish Appeal call 01752 331602 or visit www.virginmoneygiving.com/fund/washyschristmaswish to donate online. If Gables is lucky enough to raise more money than is needed it will go towards helping the other animals in their care.
