Demolition work has started and the transformation of Liskeard’s former Cattle Market into a new space for work and community is about to get underway.
The knocking-down of derelict buildings and structures is happening this month and is expected to take until the end of March.
The construction of The Workshed – the first phase of the wider regeneration project – is due to begin in August.
The £4.4m scheme will see the creation of 17 flexible units and collaborative workspaces aimed at those working in the digital and creative industries.
It is being funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), Cornwall Council, and the Government, via the Local Enterprise Partnership.
A new covered market area will also be created.
For more on the Cattle Market regeneration project see this week’s edition of the Cornish Times, which is out today.
