THOUSANDS of bulbs have been planted at the entrance verge to Carey Park, Killigarth, Polperro, by residents.
The volunteers also undertook an estate clean up, removing weeds and picking up litter.
Organised by local Cornwall Councillor Edwina Hannaford and resident Michael Thurlow, who is also the village enforcement officer, about 15 residents cleared about 10 bags of weeds from the kerbsides and paths and a small bag of litter.
Edwina said, “The estate clean up is a regular event and a great chance for neighbours to get together and give the estate a good clean and share a tea or coffee and have a catch up. Last year, with the help of local children we planted just a few daffodil bulbs that really brightened the entrance verge. Last Sunday we planted 100s of daffodils and narcissus around the eatate. Hopefully next Spring we will be rewarded with a magnificent carpet of beautiful flowers.”
Edwina and Michael would like to thank all who helped as well as John Martin for supplying the compostable cups and Denise and John Carpenter for supplying hot water for the teas and coffee supplied by Michael Thurlow and Biffa who took away the waste.
