Now in its sixth year, my Swim for Life Channel Challenges continue to become more popular each year.
Swimmers not only will be improving their own health and fitness but can help raise funds for Swim for Life's main 2000 beneficiary, The Imperial Cancer Research Fund (Reg. Charity No. 209631).
Don't worry - you don't swim in the freezing waters of the English Channel but in the warmth of your local pool.
The event runs all year to December 31, 2000.
In 1999 swimmers taking the Channel Challenge completed over one million miles - 45,500 channel crossings!
On each visit during 2000 you simply log the distance you swim.
There are several targets to aim for starting at 22 miles, anyone for 506 miles?
You can also get together with friends or work colleagues as a team.
The Imperial Cancer Research Fund is one of the world's leading cancer research organisations.
It's scientists and doctors rely on support of the general public and it is only with that support that Imperial Cancer continue to find new answers to cancer.
For more information about the Channel Challenges, call the Action Line 01382 451146 or pick up an entry form at your local pool. Please take the challenge to help others.
